Falling Shawls : Southbank Centre
As part of the Nordic Matters arts and culture festival Falling Shawls is a floating textile installation that artist Outi Pieski describes as a ‘drawing in air’ with 35,000 tassels created along with the help of the traditional Sami women from across Scandinavia...utilising indigenous craft techniques each tassel represents the northern lights which they believe are the spirits of their ancestors!
