Brain Forest Quipu : Cecilia Vicuna
Chilean artist Cecilia Vicuna presents a new installation Brain Forest Quipu at the Tate Modern turbine hall in Bankside, London and is created with sculptural and sound elements exploring ancient South American traditions, using a range of organic materials, found objects, unspun wool and plant fibres woven together to evoke the look of bleached out trees and ghostly forms...the height of the sculpture reaches the tall ceilings of the space characterising a forest and engages the viewer in our earthly link to nature!
