Michelangelo's David : V&A Museum
The Victoria and Albert Museum in South Kensington, London has proudly displayed a cast since 1857 of Michelangelo's statue of David in the Italian replicas gallery, originally commissioned and gifted by Queen Victoria sculptor Clemente Papi took a cast of the original for the Florentine council to preserve the adored piece for future relocation...this biblical figure is a symbol of liberty and one of the most famous objects of art known in modern history and is a favourite for its intricate detail and representation of the story of strength of this imposing character!
